How to Check a Digital Signature to Verify the Message
- 1). Download and install the Adobe software (See Resources).
- 2). Request a digital signature certificate from any parties that you wish to receive messages or documents from by launching the Adobe software and selecting "Manage Trusted Identities" from the documents menu.
- 3). Choose the "Request Contact" menu and enter the requested information.
- 4). Select the option to "Include My Certificates" and enter the email address of the person from whom you wish to receive verified documents and messages. Confirm that the person has received and confirmed your request.
- 5). Open the document to be verified using Adobe Acrobat.
- 6). Verify that a green check icon appears in the signature field confirming that the digital signature is valid. Alternatively, click the "Signatures" option in the navigation pane and right-click to show the signature properties.
