How Can I Install Volume Control?
- 1). Install the software drivers for your sound hardware device. Visit the hardware device manufacturer website of the sound device and download and install the latest drivers for the product. If your computer has an on-board sound device --- manufactured by Intel, AMD or ASUS, for example --- you need to visit the website and find the sound driver. Similarly, if you've installed a sound card --- manufactured by Creative, M-Audio or TerraTec, for example --- you need to do the same. The software drivers of hardware products need to be installed so that Microsoft Windows can recognize the hardware device, which in turn will enable Windows "Volume Control." The installation procedure of the drivers is similar to that of conventional software installation.
- 2). Restart Microsoft Windows. You need to restart Windows for the purpose of allowing all of the hardware settings, of the sound card and associated drivers, to be configured correctly.
- 3). Configure the Volume Control mixer settings. One of the ways to achieve this is to double click on the gray spherical icon in the bottom right of the Windows taskbar. You will be able to modify the volume levels and associated settings.
