How Can I Make an HP USB Printer Work With a Manual Install?
- 1). Go to the HP support website (see "Resources" section below) and download the appropriate driver for your HP printer model.
- 2). Save the HP printer driver onto the desktop of your PC computer.
- 3). Connect your HP printer to your computer using a standard USB cable and turn on the printer.
- 4). Open the Start menu and click on the "Printers and Faxes" icon.
- 5). Click on the "Add a Printer" link in the "Printer Tasks" section and hit "Next" when the manual installation wizard launches.
- 6). Select the "Local printer" option, but make sure that the "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer" box is unchecked. Then hit "Next" again.
