The Internet has made the world a much smaller place, and it can be a great thing when you're trying to learn a new Korean recipe, order a hard-to-find Korean ingredient, or just want to know the best restaurants in Seoul.
I really like Aeri's tutorials and the creative way she edits makes her videos- she does a lot of cutaways, shows the ingredients up close with captions, and zooming. She has a nice, soothing voice in her videos (you don't usually see her face) and beautiful photos on her blog. Maangchi's real name is Emily Kim, and she has one of the most well-known and watched Korean food channels on youtube. She has a really warm, fun personality in her videos, and she takes a no nonsense approach to making and teaching authentic Korean food to people around the world. I love to watch her tutorials for comfort food dishes that I grew up eating (but not making at home).
I followed her recipe for mapotofu once simply because it was so different than mine (in preparation and ingredients), but it was really good. Her recipes are well-tested.More »
