How to Fade Out Text in Photoshop
- 1). Open Photoshop, click “File” and select “Open.” Browse to the image to add faded text to and double-click the file so it opens in the Photoshop workspace.
- 2). Pull down the “Window” menu and click “Layers” to open the “Layers” palette, which might already be visible on the right side of the screen. The palette currently has one layer, called Background, with your image on it.
- 3). Click the “Type” tool, which looks like a “T” on the “Tools” palette on the left side of the screen. Choose a font, text size and color from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- 4). Position your cursor on the image, click and type your text. Notice a new layer added to the “Layers” palette, with a white square icon with a “T” in the middle and your words.
- 5). Slide the “Opacity” bar on the top right of the “Layers” palette downward. The further to the left you slide and the lower the percentage number, the more faded your text will appear on the image. The lower the number, the more transparent the text becomes.
- 6). Click the mini lines icon on the top right of the “Layers” palette just above the “Opacity” slider and select “Flatten Image.” Click the “File” menu, click “Save As” and type a new name for the photo instead of saving it with the same name as the original.
