How to Compress AVI Files to Burn to a DVD
- 1). Download and install a video conversion program such as DVD Flick or ConvertXtoDVD.
- 2). Open the video conversion program and import the AVI video files. DVD Flick, ConvertXtoDVD and many other conversion programs support drag-and-drop file import capabilities. Simply drag the AVI file into the program window and drop it to add the file to the list of files in queue to be converted.
- 3). Insert a blank DVD into your DVD burner.
- 4). Click the "Convert" button.
- 5). Let the program do its work. This can take a few hours or more, depending on how many video files you're converting. The best thing to do is walk away and come back later to check on the status, or run the conversion process overnight.
- 6). Test the DVD once it has burned by playing it back in a standard DVD player to make sure it worked.
