Tier Curtain Ideas
- Find tier curtains in a pale blue or light periwinkle fabric with a small flower print, and a solid periwinkle valance. Or, try a yellow background with a rooster print (rooster prints and rooster ceramics are common in French country decor). For Tuscan country tier curtains, find deep gold sheers with a small olive green print. For both french and Tuscan country, use wrought iron rods with pretty curled finials.
- Choose a lightweight gingham fabric tier curtain, or make your own in light green, blue, yellow or pink. Create a valance in a matching solid color or a coordinating color. For example, if the lower section is light blue gingham, create a valance of light green fabric.
- For a nostalgic look, create tier curtains made of faded vintage floral fabric. Visit antique stores or shop online for cabbage rose designs on creamy white background, pale green shabby chic with tiny pink roses or cotton toile of all types. Create generous panels that will form pleats and folds, but with no ruffles. Create a valance in a matching solid color.
- Choose a wooden rod with large wooden curtain rings in a natural wood color (unstained) and simple finials. Find a burlap fabric in a light blue, gold or light green. Create tier curtains, and attach the wood rings.
- Make a crisp looking set of tiers out of navy blue cotton covered in white polka dots. Use a large wooden curtain rod, wood curtain rings and wood finials to balance the dark navy. Or choose polka dot fabric in colors that suit your decor, such as pale yellow or bright green. Try them on a painted curtain rod in a contrasting shade, such as light green or light blue.
