How to Refill an Epson T0485 Ink Cartridge
- 1). Purchase an Epson chip resetter and refill kit for your Epson T0485 printer. You must use a chip resetter to erase the ink level memory chip. If you do not reset the chip, the printer will not recognize that the ink cartridge has been refilled.
- 2). Follow the instructions for your chip resetter. Most chip resetters require you only to touch the end of the ink cartridge, where the chip is located, to the end of the resetter box and wait for a light to turn on that will inform you that the reset has been successful.
- 3). Lay down a few paper towels to help protect your work area from any ink that may spill. You may also want to wear gloves to protect your hands from ink stains.
- 4). Locate the area on the thin side of the ink cartridge that shows a small "PUSH" sticker; it is on the side of the cartridge that faces up once the cartridge has been inserted into the printer.
- 5). Drill two small holes, using a thumb drill, above the "PUSH" sticker, toward the end of the ink cartridge. One hole will be used to insert the ink while the other hole will allow air to escape from the cartridge.
- 6). Fill the syringe that came with your ink refill kit to the appropriate line. Fill it to 25ml for black ink and to 10ml for colored ink.
- 7). Insert the needle tip of the syringe into one of holes that you drilled. Do not force the needle too far into the cartridge; it can be inserted only about 1cm.
- 8). Push the plunger of the syringe toward the cartridge, slowly, to allow the ink to fill in the chambers inside of the cartridge.
- 9). Remove the syringe from the ink cartridge, and place a small piece of tape over the holes that you drilled into the cartridge.
