Always try and learn new things as a means to feel young. Learning is a lifelong pursuit and should never be abandoned.

Try personalizing your home. Even when we're older, life circumstances can cause us to depart from the place we believed we were going to call home forever. To make any place comfortable, decorate it with familiar, special items that are meaningful to you.

Ditch the pessimists and surround yourself with optimistic, encouraging friends and acquaintances. Laughing and having a good time will help you look younger. Surround yourself with people who encourage you to laugh and smile. Don't hang around those who stress you out or cause you to feel depressed.

Sugar is one of the biggest factors in having a shorter life. Excess sugar can shorten lives and accelerate the aging process. Studies have proven that refined sugar shortens lifespan in all mammals, not just humans.

Eat correctly. Your diet should contain lots of fruits and veggies and you should limit the amount of fats and sugars you ingest. Eating healthy will help you keep in good shape both physically and mentally, while also giving you the energy necessary to get through the day.

Walking for thirty minutes, three times weekly aids your balance, while maintaining your physical and mental fitness. To lower your risk of fractures, you need to increase bone density by not only doing weight training, but also getting enough vitamin D and calcium.

Whether you use one of the above tips or all of them, the time you spend fighting aging with these tips will be well spent. This is up to you. You must take responsibility for your health even as you are faced with these challenges. Do not allow yourself to become complacent; it is in your best interest to develop a lifestyle that will allow you to age gracefully.
