How to Unlock the BlackBerry Pearl for International Use
- 1). Call your service provider and ask for the unlock code for your BlackBerry Pearl. You will need the IMEI number of your BlackBerry in order to get the unlock code. Check the back of the device underneath the battery to obtain that number. To get your provider's customer service number, go to your provider's website and then click on "Contact us." You may have to enter your zip code to get an area-specific customer service number. The phone number will also be on your monthly statement.
- 2). Turn off the wireless connections on your BlackBerry. To do this, click on the "Connections" icon on your screen and then select "Manage connections" and "Turn off all connections."
- 3). Select "Settings" from your menu. Within the "Settings" menu, click on "Options," and then "Advanced Options."
- 4). Choose "SIM card" from the "Advanced Options" menu.
- 5). Type in "meppd" in the SIM card menu. You may not see these numbers appear on the screen as you are typing. Then put in "mepp" in the "Unlocking Levels" screen.
- 6). Enter your unlock code when prompted to and then press "Enter." Your BlackBerry Pearl is now unlocked.
