My Apps Won't Work on My iPod Touch
- 1). Recharge the iPod touch. Some applications run poorly or do not load at all if the device is low on battery.
- 2). Turn the iPod touch off. Wait a few seconds, and turn it back on. Launch the application to see if it works again.
- 3). Work on only one application at a time. Turn off any music before launching the application, as this might disrupt certain applications and games.
- 4). Execute a soft reset on the iPod touch. Hold the "Home" button down simultaneously with the "Power" button for at least 10 seconds or until the screen displays the Apple icon. Launch the application again to check for functionality.
- 5). Determine if the application needs a WiFi connection to function. If the application needs a constant Internet connection to play multiplayer online games or update application data, make sure to operate the iPod in an area with full WiFi strength and connectivity.
- 6). Update the iPod Touch software. Plug the iPod touch into the computer using the USB cable. Launch iTunes. Select the name of the iPod in the left pane. Click the "Check for Updates" icon in the right pane. If iTunes finds an update, allow the software to download and install it automatically.
- 7). Install a new iTunes update, if available. Open iTunes. Select "Help," "Check for Updates" from the menu. Download and install the update if iTunes finds a new version. Sync the iPod touch to iTunes after the update.
- 8). Deauthorize and reauthorize the computer, as Softpedia News recommends. Launch iTunes, select "Store" and "Deauthorize This Computer," and enter the Apple account user name and password credentials into the pop-up box. Confirm the operation. Navigate to "Store" and "Authorize This Computer," and enter the account credentials once again. Confirm the operation, and sync the iPod touch again.
- 9). Reinstall the malfunctioning application. Press and hold the application icon on the iPod touch, and select the "X" that appears at the top right corner of the icon. Confirm the deletion. Navigate to the iTunes applications store, and download the application again or sync the device with the iTunes Application library.
