How to Manually Remove Fleas From Kittens
- 1). Add warm water to a kitchen sink or bathtub. Test the water before you place the kitten in it to ensure that it does not feel too hot or cold. Fill the sink or bathtub until the water just reaches the kitten's neck.
- 2). Rub the kitten with the warm water and a washcloth to coat its face and head and to dampen the fur. Wet the kitten's fur carefully and avoid getting water in its eyes, mouth or nose.
- 3). Remove the kitten from the sink or bathtub and place it on a towel. Rub a gentle dish-washing soap onto its fur and massage the soap on its body. Apply the soap carefully around the ears, head and face. Avoid getting the soap in its eyes.
- 4). Place the kitten back into the water to rinse the soap off carefully. Remove the kitten from the water and dry it thoroughly with a towel.
- 5). Place a cup of hot water nearby. Comb the kitten with a flea comb to remove any remaining live fleas. Dip the flea comb into the hot water to kill the fleas. If you do not have a flea comb, remove the fleas with your fingers or tweezers.
