How to Build a Crawfish Cage
- 1). Bend the 25-by-25-inch wire mesh into a cylinder that is 8 inches in diameter and 25 inches long. Secure the mesh in this position using eight zip-ties.
- 2). Role an 8-by-25-inch mesh sheet into a cone-shape that has an 8-inch base and a 2-inch opening at the top. Secure the mesh in this position using four zip-ties. Repeat this step with the last sheet of 8-by-25-inch mesh.
- 3). Insert the two cone-shaped mesh pieces into the cylinder, each from an opposite end, so they are pointing towards the center of the cylinder. Secure the cones to the outside edges of the cylinder using eight zip-ties at each end.
- 4). Tie your rope to the crawfish cage and set the cage in a river or water body that contains crawfish. Pull the cage out after a few hours to see if you've caught any crawfish.
- 5). Remove one set of zip-ties that secure one of the cones in place to access the inside of the cage.
