How to Dry TVs That Got Windex in Them

    • 1). Turn off and unplug your TV immediately after the spill. The longer your TV remains on after internal contact with Windex, the higher the possibility of permanent damage to your set.

    • 2). Turn your TV onto its side or top and place it on a towel. Allow any excess Windex to drip out of the TV.

    • 3). Place the TV next to a large fan to help speed the drying process. Alternatively, you can use a hand-held blow dryer to dry the TV by hand. When drying electronics with a blow dryer, use only the "cool" or "no heat" settings.

    • 4). Let the TV sit in a cool dry room for two to three more hours to fully dry.

    • 5). Plug the TV in and turn it on with a remote control. Avoid physical contact with the TV until you have visually confirmed that it is working correctly. Liquid damage on TVs can cause electric shocks if severe enough. If your TV does not show signs of working correctly, turn it off and unplug it. Have it examined by a professional electrician as soon as possible.
