As a beginner runner, it's important that you take on board as much beginners running advice as possible.
Running is a great way to get fit, look great and feel great.
Some things to consider however are how to start running, what to eat, and what to wear to avoid injury.
These and other factors are important pieces of advice that you must take into account before setting out.
Starting Line If you're new to the running world then it's vital that you don't overdo it on your first run.
One of the most important pieces of beginners running advice I can give is to start slow and gradually improve your time and distance.
It doesn't matter if you can only manage 3 minutes on your first try.
As long as you aim to improve every day you will make progress.
Feed Your Body Healthy carbohydrates and proteins will become your best friends when it comes to eating.
Running requires a lot of energy and can be quite strenuous on your body.
It's important that you fuel yourself and give your body enough protein for muscle repair.
Many people don't pay much attention to this aspect of beginners running advice and suffer form muscle pain and fatigue.
The Right Shoes As a runner, you're feet and knees will absorb the full impact of your work.
Therefore it's important that you have a good pair of runners to cushion the blow as much as possible.
We all have different feet and if you're going to take running seriously I advice you get a pair of shoes that fit you will.
It may even help to have a chat with the shoe store staff and have them give you some recommendations based on your goals and measurements.
Other Advice Of course while the above mentioned are very important pieces of advice, there is much more beginners running advice that I haven't covered.
This includes how to stay motivated, your water consumption, and the correct jogging technique.
These all need to be considered as they can all have a direct impact on your short and long term running performance.
