How to Make Nursery Mobiles
- 1). Use a paintbrush to apply acrylic paint in the color of your choice to a 12mm wooden dowel rod, found at any craft store. Paint a wooden clothes hanger with the hook removed with the same color. Set both objects aside until they are completely dry.
- 2). Loop a piece of string through the wooden clothes hanger and tie it to one end of the wooden dowel rod, making sure to leave about an inch and a half of string slack in between to allow the mobile to rotate. The wooden hanger is now the crosspiece of the mobile.
- 3). Use scissors to cut pieces of string in various sizes and tie them to the crosspiece so that they are hanging straight down.
- 4). Attach various small objects to the ends of the string to finish the mobile. You can either use random objects or ones related to a certain theme. Teething rings, little sewn animals, booties, and even shape cutouts are all suitable.
