How to Replace Auto Remote Batteries
- 1). Remove the auto remote from your key ring. The remote comes apart in two pieces. Leaving the remote on the key ring can make it difficult to open the remote.
- 2). Look on the back of the remote for a small screw. If you find a screw, remove the screw with a small jeweler's screwdriver and proceed to Step 4.
- 3). Look for a notch between the the seam of the front and back of the remote, if your remote has no screw. There will be a space large enough to insert the side of a dime or small flat-head screwdriver to pry the remote apart.
- 4). Pull the battery out of the remote. Some remotes have a small metal clip holding the battery. Slide the battery from under the clip, taking care not to bend the clip. Insert a new battery into the remote and place the two pieces back together. Squeeze the remote together until it snaps shut or secure the two pieces with the screw you removed previously.
