How to Crochet a Knitted Afghan Together
- 1). Tie the contrasting yarn into the stitch at one of the corners of a panel. Insert the crochet hook into the same stitch, draw up a loop and chain one. Work two single crochet into the same stitch.
- 2). Work one single crochet in the end of each row along the knitted panel to the next corner. Work three single crochet in the corner stitch. Work one single crochet in each stitch across the end of the panel. Edge the remaining corners and sides in the same way. Join the last stitch to the chain-one with which you started, using a slip stitch, and fasten off the yarn.
- 3). Edge each of the other panels in the same way.
- 4). Join two panels by holding them right sides together and matching tops and bottoms. Tie the crochet yarn into the center stitch of one of the corners. Draw up a loop and chain two. Slip stitch this chain to the center stitch of the corner on the other panel. Chain two, skip the neighboring stitch of the corner, and single crochet into the third stitch along the first panel. Chain two, skip three stitches on the second panel, and single crochet into the fourth. Continue up the seam, crossing between the panels with two stitch chains and single crochets in one panel and then the other, placing each four stitches from where the previous chains are anchored.
- 5). Work a chain-two from the last stitch of one panel, the middle stitch of the corner, and slip stitch it to the last stitch of the other panel. Finish off that piece of yarn.
- 6). Join the remaining panels alongside the first two in the same manner.
