Carefully Tested, Proven Snoring Aids That Really Work

103 51
There is a big market for anti snoring aids and for good reason; snoring is becoming an epidemic.
The main reason for this is that as a society, we are getting fatter.
Snoring remedies abound everywhere; snoring pillows, mouth guards, straps and all types of cures, some ingenious and some just plain crazy.
But snoring cures have made some headway - particularly in the area of pillows, which have been approved by the FDA to actually reduce snoring.
The way these pillows aid in the reduction of snoring is simple; the pillow aligns the head and neck into a proper position to keep the vital airway open and reduce snoring.
It is the constriction of this airway in the throat and neck that causes snoring in the first place.
Obesity, drinking alcohol, smoking and sinus conditions all contribute to snoring, and its more dangerous cousin, sleep apnea.
Soft tissue in your neck and throat can collapse around your sinus cavities and windpipe and cause air obstruction while you sleep.
If you suffer from this condition, you may be actually falling asleep and waking up hundreds of times every night.
Aids to cure sleep apnea are more invasive, as sleep apnea is a serious health condition.
Patients who suffer from sleep apnea actually stop breathing while they sleep.
This has serious health ramifications, as the lack of oxygen to vital organs like the heart can cause permanent damage.
The most common solution for sleep apnea is the CPAP machine, a small breathing device that blows a jet of air into your nostrils while you sleep, keeping the air passages open and allowing a sound, restful sleep.
The problem with these devices is that they can be very expensive; the diagnostic test used to diagnose their use is very expensive as well.
Finally, many patients just can't seem to get used to the breathing mask that you must wear every night.
So what is the best solution for snoring and sleep apnea? For those who are just trying to get a handle on their problem, I recommend a snoring pillow to start.
It's the easiest and cheapest way to get some relief fast.
Unlike some of the other techniques, the pillow is fairly cheap and won't cramp your sleeping style too much.
The other great reason to try them is that for most people, they really do work.
The pillow works by holding your neck in the proper position; this will aid in keeping the air passages open and thus reduce snoring.
The pillow also encourages the sleeper to lie more still, without the tossing and turning that can disrupt sleep.
When your air way is kept open, you'll get better airflow and will snore less.
Some find that this can completely eliminate snoring - but for those with a more serious case, the pillow alone may not be enough.
Often the patient must resort to chin straps, throat sprays or other devices to aid in the cessation of snoring.
If sleep apnea is the problem, only a visit to a qualified physician can cure the problem.
