How to Knit a Chevron & a Feather Stitch
- 1). Begin on the right side of your knitting, or after casting on the number of stitches needed.
- 2). Knit 1, knit 2 together, make 1 stitch by wrapping the yarn over the needle, knit 1, make 1 (as described), knit 1, make 1, slip 1 stitch from the left needle to the right needle without working it, knit 1, pass the slip stitch over the knit stitch, knit 1. This set of stitches forms Row 1 of the feather pattern. You can repeat the set as many times as you wish across a row of knitting.
- 3). Purl all stitches for Row 2.
- 4). Repeat Steps 2 and 3 as many times as necessary for the length of the knit piece you are making.
- 1). Begin on the right side of your knitting, or after casting on the number of stitches needed.

Increase 1 stitch by knitting into the front and back of the stitch on the left needle, knit 4, slip 1 stitch from the left needle to the right without working it, knit 2 stitches together, pass the slip stitch over the knit stitch, increase 1 stitch as already described. This set of stitches forms Row 1 of the thin chevron pattern. You can repeat the set as many times as you wish across a row of knitting.
- 3). Purl the next row.
- 4). For Row 3, repeat Step 2.
- 5). Knit the next row.
- 6). Repeat Steps 2, 3, 4 and 5 as many times as necessary for the length of the knit piece you are making.
- 1). Begin on the right side of your knitting, or after casting on the number of stitches needed.
- 2). Knit 3 stitches, purl 5, knit 3, purl 1. This set of stitches forms Row 1 of the thick chevron pattern. You can repeat the set as many times as you wish across a row of knitting.
- 3). Work Row 2 by knitting the purl stitches and purling the knit stitches from Row 1.
- 4). Purl 1, knit 3, purl 3, knit 3, purl 2 for Row 3. Work Row 4 by knitting the purl stitches and purling the knit stitches from Row 3.
- 5). Purl 2, knit 3, purl 1, knit 3, purl 3 for Row 5. Work Row 6 by knitting the purl stitches and purling the knit stitches from Row 5.
- 6). Purl 3, knit 5, purl 3, knit 1 for Row 7. Work Row 8 by knitting the purl stitches and purling the knit stitches from Row 7.
- 7). Knit 1, purl 3, knit 3, purl 3, knit 2 for Row 9. Work Row 10 by knitting the purl stitches and purling the knit stitches from Row 9.
- 8). Knit 2, purl 3, knit 1, purl 3, knit 3 for Row 11. Work Row 12 by knitting the purl stitches and purling the knit stitches from Row 10.
- 9). Repeat Steps 2 through 8 as many times as necessary for the length of the knit piece you are making.
