    • 1). Cut a front panel for the subwoofer box from your 3/4-inch MDF. Make the dimensions 13 by 13 inches. You can cut the MDF with a hand saw, but a circular or table saw will make faster, cleaner cuts. Sand the edges of the panel with fine-grit sandpaper.

    • 2). Cut an opening in the front panel for the subwoofer. Use the subwoofer as a template for the opening, and make the cut with a keyhole saw or jigsaw. Sand the edges of the opening with fine-grit sandpaper.

    • 3). Cut two side panels from MDF with your saw. The dimensions should be 13 by 11-1/2 inches. Sand the edges of the panel with fine-grit sandpaper.

    • 4). Cut top and bottom panels from MDF with your saw. The dimensions should be 13 by 13 inches. Sand the edges of the panel with fine-grit sandpaper.

    • 5). Cut a back panel for the subwoofer box from MDF with your saw. The dimensions should be 13 by 13 inches. Sand the edges of the panel with fine-grit sandpaper.

    • 6). Cut an opening in the back panel of the subwoofer box for a speaker terminal cup. Use the cup as a template and make the cut with a keyhole or jigsaw. Sand the opening with fine-grit sandpaper.

    • 7). Assemble the top, bottom, and side panels together to form a hollow square. Screw the panels together with 1-1/2 inch wood screws, spaced every 3 inches. Caulk the joints on the inside with a silicone caulk.

    • 8). Add the front panel to the box, screwing it in place with 1-1/2 inch woodscrews, spaced every 3 inches. Caulk the joints on the inside with silicone caulk.

    • 9). Mount the subwoofer into the front panel opening, using 1/2-inch wood screws.

Cut a 16-inch length of speaker wire and remove 1/2 inch of insulation from each end of the wire.

    • 11

Connect one end of the speaker wire to the terminals of the subwoofer. Loosen the terminals by turning them to the left, slip the wires in, and tighten the terminals to hold the wire.

    • 12

Place the back panel onto the box, securing with screws as described previously. Be sure you pull the end of the speaker wire through the opening in the back panel when installing it.

    • 13

Connect the speaker wire to the screw terminals on the back side of the terminal cup (the side that will be on the inside of the box) by loosening the screws with a screwdriver, sliding the wire underneath the screws, and tightening them.
