How to Use a Brother Ruffler Attachment
- 1). Turn the screw on the side of the needle bar counterclockwise to remove the standard foot from the sewing machine. Pull the foot away from the machine, and place it to the side.
- 2). Slide the "U" shaped piece on the top of the ruffle foot around the loosened screw.
- 3). Press the shank on to the bottom of the ruffle foot with your hand. If needed, slide a shank adapter on before attaching the shank.
- 4). Sew together two pieces of fabric as you normally would. Overlap the ends of two pieces of fabric, and slide them under the ruffle foot while pressing the pedal of the sewing machine to create a ruffle stitch. This attachment will automatically create a ruffle by gathering the fabric in the stitch.
- 5). Turn the knob on your machine with your hand to adjust stitch settings. A smaller stitch will create fuller stitches than a larger stitch.
