2003 Jeep Liberty Stereo Installation Instructions
- Lift the Jeep's hood. Loosen the bolt on the grounding cable with the wrench. Lift the cable from the negative battery terminal and set it aside.
- Pull the ashtray from the Liberty's dashboard and remove the screw in the back of the compartment with a Phillips screwdriver. Grab the trim panel that surrounds the stereo and climate controls and pull it away from the dash by hand. Remove the two screws on either side of the stereo bracket with the screwdriver and slide the radio from the Jeep's dashboard. Disconnect the stereo wiring and antenna cable from the back of the radio.
- Slide the aftermarket faceplate adapter into the Liberty's dashboard stereo dock. Pull the stereo wiring through to the front of the dash. Connect the stereo wiring connectors to the wiring harness adapter leads. Plug the adapter's lead connectors into the corresponding outlets on the back of the new stereo. Insert the antenna cable lead into the FM antenna input on the rear panel of the new radio. Slide the unit into the faceplate adapter until it locks into place.
Replace the trim panel and the screw in the back of the ashtray compartment. Return the ashtray and move back to the battery. Place the grounding cable back onto the negative terminal and tighten the cable's bolt.
