How to Combine Imagery and Intuition for Maximum Problem-Solving Prowess
When you combine the two, you increase your ability to solve problems in a faster, clearer, and more efficient manner.
You will need:
- A quiet space, free of noise and interruption
- A comfortable chair built for relaxation
- Paper and pencil, or a journal for recording information
State your problem as clearly as you can.
Think about your problem.
Explore all aspects of it.
If it is an elaborate problem, make notes about the various aspects of it.
Then, when you are finished, write your request for a solution in the form of a question.
2.
Get into the right frame of mind.
Clear your mind of all expectations.
If you are leaning one way or another, you may influence the results.
Be open to whatever images you receive.
3.
Meditate.
Sit comfortably and relaxed in your chair.
Allow all your muscles to relax.
Breathe gently and naturally.
Allow your mind to release all thoughts.
When a thought occurs, gently push it aside.
Your intent here is to create a blank slate.
Stay in this state for five to ten minutes.
4.
Pose Your Question/Receive Images.
Ask the question you formulated in Step 1.
You may say it out loud or think it.
Then relax.
At this point, allow whatever images to enter your mind as may come.
Do not control what you see.
Simply take note of any thoughts, feelings, or images that enter your mind.
5.
Record Your Findings.
When you have received everything, open your eyes and record all your findings in your journal.
Just record everything at first.
After you have written everything down, start making connections from the images and feelings to your problem.
6.
Walk Away for a Day.
Set your journal aside and let it rest for a day.
When you come back to it, look at your results.
Do you still agree? Is there anything you missed? 7.
Take Appropriate Action.
When you are confident in your results, take whatever action your intuition is recommending.
Tips:
- Practice meditation on a regular basis.
Even a minimum of two ten-minute sessions per day will help keep an open channel between your conscious level and your intuition. - When analyzing your images, look for symbolism.
Often the images that come from your intuition will take the form of symbols. - Allow enough time to do this exercise.
Do not rush the process. - If you are having trouble receiving images or feelings, try using a guided imagery tool such as a drawing screen or items found in a certain setting.
- If you're not satisfied with the results, repeat the exercise.
