    • 1). Lift the hood of the Miata and disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery using a 10 mm wrench.

    • 2). Remove the two small panels at either edge of the stereo face with a small flat screwdriver.

    • 3). Insert the DIN to removal tools into the holes that are revealed the edges of the stereo face. Pull outward on the tools and slide the Bose factory stereo from the stereo mounting dock.

    • 4). Disconnect the wiring from the back of the stereo. Pull the wires by the white plastic binders, not by the wires themselves.

    • 5). Connect the Mazda stereo wiring to a wiring harness adapter.

    • 6). Insert a faceplate adapter into the opening left by the removed factory unit. Feed the wiring harness adapter leads through the back of the faceplate adapter.

    • 7). Connect the leads of the wiring harness adapter to the aftermarket stereo. The wiring harness adapter will be appropriately labeled to show where the proper connections are to be made.

    • 8). Slide the aftermarket stereo into the opening provided by the faceplate adapter.

    • 9). Place the negative battery cable onto the negative battery terminal lead and tighten the clamp with the 10mm wrench.
