How to Remove Teflon Coating From Wire
- 1). Determine how much of the Teflon-coated wire needs to be stripped of Teflon.
- 2). Pick up the wire strippers and place them at the determined length.
- 3). Clamp the wire strippers down on the wiring to break through the coating, and pull away from the wire to pull the Teflon off the wire. Be careful not to squeeze too hard or you will nick the wire. If the wire length that needs to be stripped is somewhat long, you might want to work in small sections, working your way toward the predetermined length.
- 1). Plug in the thermal wire stripper, turn on the heat dial and allow it to heat up.
- 2). Place the wire into the unit to the predetermined length, and squeeze the handle to secure it.
- 3). Twist the wire slightly, and pull it away from the heater unit.
