You may be surprised to hear that but it's not that hard at all to repair a broken relationship.
In fact, most of the breakups can be reversed quite easily and relationships can be saved.
So, you may ask, why aren't my attempts at saving the relationship working?...
Why does it seem that everything I do to bring my ex back up just makes the things worse between us?...
Why isn't he responding to my voice mails or emails?...
Why doesn't she accept my apologies?..
Why? The thing is you need to do the RIGHT things, things that seem commonsense to everybody looking from a distance...
but not you.
Keep in mind that YOU are NOT thinking logically and your emotions are keeping you from seeing the big picture and doing the right things.
Talking to your friends does not usually help much either, because they are involved in the situation too, being on your side.
First and foremost, you need to take some time apart and accept what had just happened.
Stop calling your ex, do not leave messages on his or her voice mail, and do not pretend to unexpectedly "bump into" your ex all the time.
The last thing you need is to seem desperate - that is NOT the winning tactic to use.
You need to calm down and think about your strategy.
Take some time to figure out how you contributed to the breakup.
But do not fall into the other extreme - do not cut off all contact and never speak badly about your ex in front of others.
And - best of all - get some solid, objective advice what to do next.
Remember, relationships CAN be saved, even after a breakup.
