How Found: Online. We just moved to Indiana and were looking for a great campground we could frequent quite often. This one is definitely not it.
How Camped: RV
Description: The campground advertises itself as having "free Wifi" on its website. This is only true if you are staying inside the camp store!
When we arrived, there was a note on the door telling us to call a cell phone number so someone could help us (it was about 8pm on a Tuesday). The man who showed up wasn't very friendly or helpful. I asked about the Wifi and he said it was pretty much only around the camp store. So we thought, okay, let's get a close spot to the store to find service.
EVEN AT THE CLOSEST SPOT, there was NO Wifi signal on my iPhone. None. My phone picks up pretty much any service nearby and it couldn't detect a thing there. So,that is a complete lie on their website trying to make people think they have free Wifi. Nevertheless, we said okay, we will still try it out. So we drive around looking for a spot for our three planned days to be there. Sites are not marked. At all. You just have to find a spot near a hook up and park however you wish. This made it look messy and unorganized. Still we trudged on looking for a spot. However, it appears that this campground caters mostly to those seasonal campers who live there which is more than fine except for most of the permanent spots were filled not with nice and clean RVs but with dirty, rundown, campers which makes the whole place look creepy.
We are accustomed to nice, clean campgrounds with clean facilities. We had seen enough so we left and went to a SUPER NICE campground outside of Albion - Chain o' Lakes State Park. It was wonderful! It was friendly, very clean, and somewhere we will return often. And they don't falsely advertise "free Wifi" or have dumpy, seasonal campers everywhere!
Pros, Cons, Attractions and Additional Comments:
Pros: Though we didn't end up staying for the reasons mentioned above, we did see a nice looking inground pool for camper use. That's the only thing that seemed nice to us. And they do have a camp store and a sign with a few activities posted that may be fun if they are not falsely advertising that, too.
Cons: Dirty looking campground with tons of messy, dirty, seasonal campers around the perimeter. NO Wifi like is advertised. Sites are not marked so cars and RVs can be parked everywhere which would be a safety issue if you have kids. The man who let's you in if the manager is not there isn't very friendly and makes you feel like you are bothersome to him just for letting you in the campground.
Attractions: Not much of anything.
Additional comments: We would never go back. And I believe they also own a couple of more in the area so we will stay away from those, too. As for the Wifi issue, if they do have it and service isn't in the campground, take it off your website until you get what you say you have.

From Gordon's Campground Resort: “We do things just a little different at Gordons! We feature Pick Your Own Sites. The campground has many acres of open camping areas with water and electric hookups throughout. The areas are all grass and campers get to decided how and where to set up. Whether you are overnighting in a tent or towing with a Class A Motorhome, we have a site for you at Gordons!"
