How to Make Beaded Book Thongs
- 1). Cut a 20 inch length of beading wire. Thread on one crimp bead and one wire guardian onto the wire. The wire guardian helps protect the wire from normal wear and tear.
- 2). Add the charm onto the wire guardian and push the short end of the wire through the other hole of the wire guardian and up through the crimp bead, so the wire goes twice through the crimp bead. On the wire guardian, the wire slips over the top of the wire guardian and back through the other hole.
- 3). Push the crimp bead against the wire guardian and then crimp the crimp bead with a crimp forming tool. Crimp once to get the 4 corners pressed. Turn the crimp bead and crimp again. Keep rotating the crimp bead until the crimp bead looks like a 2 mm bead.
- 4). String one crystal, one lampwork bead, one crystal, three seed beads, one crystal, one lampwork bead and one crystal bead onto the wire. The beads cover the short end of the wire to hide it.
- 5). Thread on 12 inches of seed beads. You can use one color or a mixture of colors.
- 6). Thread on one crystal, one lampwork bead, one crystal, three seed beads, one crystal, one lampwork, one crystal, three seed beads, one crystal, one lampwork and one crystal.
- 7). Thread on one crimp bead, the wire guardian and another charm just like you did in step 2. Run the wire back up through the crimp bead and at least one crystal.
- 8). Pull the wire taut and crimp the crimp bead with a crimp forming tool like you did in step 3. Cut off the excess wire with wire cutters. Your beaded book thong is now ready to use or give away as a gift.
