How to Troubleshoot a Samsung TV Model HLN617W
- 1). Make sure the TV is set to the correct video input source.
- 2). Check both ends of all the cables connected to the TV: power cables; video cables; speaker cables; antenna; etc. Secure any loose connections.
- 3). Unplug the TV from the outlet for 30 seconds if it's behaving erratically, such as turning off intermittently, flickering or making strange sounds.
- 4). Replace the TV's projection lamp if it has been in use for more than 6,000 hours. Symptoms of a failing lamp include dim or blank screens and not having light visible in the back of the TV.
- 5). Replace the TV's DLP color wheel if it has failed or worn out. The bearings in the color wheels in Samsung TVs sometimes give out, causing the TV to screech when turned on. You may want to have a service technician handle this process.
