How to Hide Imperfections in Bathroom Walls
- 1). Sand the wall using a medium-grade sandpaper to create a smooth surface on which to work. Simply rub the sandpaper back and forth across the cracked areas.
- 2). Smear filler into the crack using a flat-edged knife. Apply sparingly so there isn't a large amount of filler on the wall around the crack.
- 3). Sand the area, once dried, to remove any excess filler from the wall and create a smooth finish for painting.
- 1). Sand the area surrounding holes with coarse sandpaper to remove any debris.
- 2). Apply a thin coat of filler to the hole and allow to dry and harden. If the filler is not sticking, brush or spray the hole with a small amount of water to remove loose dust.
- 3). Apply a fresh layer every time the previous layer has hardened, continue until the hole is completely filled. Don't apply too much filler at once, or the weight of the filler could make it fall out of the hole onto the floor.
- 1). Put on eye protection before you begin to prevent sharp pieces of paint from flying into your eyes.
- 2). Use a medium-grade sandpaper to remove loose, flaky paint, rubbing it against the wall's surface in a back-in-forth motion.
- 3). Repaint as desired. Use a paint specifically designed for the bathroom, as it can handle the extra moisture caused by showering.
