How to Tie a Prosperity Knot
- 1). Create a loop in the cord, hereafter referred to as loop A. Drape the loose end which is on top at the point the cord crosses over itself across the body of loop A.
- 2). Pass the same loose end under the other loose end. The weaving loose end will now be positioned next to the loop formed when you bent the loose end down over the first loop. This new loop is known as loop B.
- 3). Weave the loose end over the side of loop B nearest it, under the side of loop A nearest it, over the side of loop B farthest from it and under the side of loop A farthest from it and pull through. You will be left with three intersecting loops, with the loop just formed, loop C, aligned with loop A, and loop B extending up above both.
- 4). Pull on the sides of loops A and C to tighten loop B down and make loops A and C larger.
- 5). Twist loop A one-half rotation, so that the left side of the loop comes over the right side. Repeat with loop C, again twisting the left side over the right. Each loop will now have a smaller loop at its end after the twist.
- 6). Pass the twisted section of loop C through the twisted section of loop A. The two loops will divide each other into three sections, with each loop having a section before it intersects the other loop, a section where the two loops intersect and a section extending beyond the other loop.
- 7). Weave the loose end you have been weaving in prior steps over the near side of the twisted section of loop A, under the twisted section of loop C and over the far side of the twisted section of loop A.
- 8). Weave the loose end you have not been weaving in prior steps over the near side of the twisted section of loop C, under the twisted section of loop A and over the far side of the twisted section of loop C.
