How to Attach Findings on Sea Glass
- 1). Select a medium to large piece of sea glass. Wrap masking tape around the outside of it. Place a dot on the masking tape in the desired location for a hole.
- 2). Position the sea glass in a bench vise so the dot is facing up. Tighten the vise so it holds the sea glass securely in place.
- 3). Put on the safety glasses.
- 4). Turn on the drill. Gently drill a hole through the sea glass at a true 45-degree angle to the piece.
- 5). Remove the sea glass from the bench vise. Remove the masking tape.
- 6). Cut a piece of beading wire 4 inches long. Insert the end of the beading wire through the hole in the sea glass. Pull the wire through the hole until half of it is on each side of the glass. Bend the wire to the top of the glass and twist it so it is tight against the glass surface.
- 7). Make a loop in the top of the wire. Open the needle-nose pliers. Place the open end of the pliers over the twist of the beading wire. Wrap the two ends of the wire over the open end of the pliers. Twist the wire three to four times.
- 8). Remove the end of the needle-nose pliers from the twisted wire. Cut off the wire above the second twist. Use the pliers to flatten the second twist.
- 9). Thread a calotte or clamshell crimp onto the necklace cord. Place a crimping bead inside the calotte or clamshell and secure it around the crimping bead.

Open a jump ring with the needle-nose pliers. Place the loop on the sea glass onto the ring, then place the calotte or clamshell on the ring. Squeeze it closed with the pliers.
