How to Convert DXF to EDI
- 1). Click “Start.” Select “All Applications” from the pop-up menu. Select the DXF file-converter program from the submenu pop-up attached to “All Applications.”
- 2). Click “File” at the upper-left corner of the DXF converter program’s main window. Select “Open File” from the drop-down menu. Navigate in the window that appears to the DXF file that is to be converted. Click once on the file. Click the “Open” button at the bottom of the window.
- 3). Click the “Convert” or “File Format” tab on the program’s window; the name will vary depending on which program you're using. Select “EDI” from the drop-down menu or from the list of choices presented if a new window appears. Release the drop-down menu or click “OK” if there was a new window.
- 4). Click the “Start” or “Convert” button on the program’s window; the name will vary depending on the program.
- 5). Do nothing as a progress bar fills in from left to right or a counter counts up from “0” to “100,” depending on the program. If a pop-up window appears first, name the EDI file that is going to be made in the text field at the top of the window, select
"Desktop” from the drop-down menu at the middle of the window and click “Save” at the bottom of the window.
