Reshaping SEO!
The Internet is a result of some visionary thinking by people in the early 1960s who saw great potential value in allowing computers to share information in form of data.
It witnessed a tremendous growth due to the emerging technology since the day it came into being.
The continuous understanding of web and its nature gradually merged academics and businesses, giving it a shape of World Wide Web (www) or the Internet.
As the transmission and reception of information worldwide becomes more efficient, affordable and generally more accessible, slowly businesses adopted web as a medium to expand their reach and visibility globally.
A few expert minds figured out the vast possibilities behind the web power.
It was during this period the concept of online marketing or search engine optimization emerged.
People had little or no knowledge about how to cope up with this latest online marketing trend.
What's next in the SEO world was the murmur I could hear every now and then.
It was not a subject which was taught in any college or business institutes.
It was hard to imagine a graduate in marketing with proper or even working knowledge of this domain.
I, somehow foresee that SEO, which otherwise looked calm, was a great cyclone in the making.
To me, SEO is a lifestyle, and a mindset.
No book, teacher or course can ever change a non programmer, or non SEO into an expert.
It takes time, dedication, hard work, sweat, hair tearing episodes, late nights, headaches, brain-storming sessions, lots of patience, mistakes and experience and of course lots of trial and error along with perpetual endeavour to follow and adjust with the algorithmic frequent changes by Search Engines.
I think a lot of people do know about SEO, far too many don't though, or worse could be having a totally wrong idea about it.
Ideally, everyone wants to hire the best in the industry, but not everyone can afford that, so many have to pave the way to SEO with extensive learning, which is fine - but for large corporations, and companies with money to invest - they really need to hire an expert for each job they require in this field.
If we look down the road 10 years ahead and say, "What are the big trends going to be in SEO?" I believe it will undoubtedly adapt and respond to the pursuit for even more reliable and relevant search results irrespective of whichever platform or medium they are displayed on, and as the search engines refine their processes the opportunities to tease out a marketing edge through algorithm exploitation will gradually disappear.
To me, it creates a real opportunity for niche markets- the ability to do well on targeted searches as well as related ones.
The rise of advanced SEO tools has enabled more accurate search engine results because the set rules and later algorithms responsible for indexing can process and deliver the information faster.
Emergent technologies like the latent semantic indexing (LSI) Mobile Web and iGoogle with its opportunities for instant, on-demand search results and information retrieval, further shapes the website development standards and strive to create a wide spectrum for online marketing opportunities as the skills to exploit, adopt and learn new markets trends, social media optimization and other related aspects of online marketing mix.
The future of SEO is unpredictable even after taking instances from past and present yet centred upon two things: content and its availability.
People are hungry for quality content and whosoever can produce lots of link-worthy content will get lots of SEO mileage in future.
"Search Engine Optimization in next 10 years will become a very fragmented activity.
There will be lot of variables which will need optimization and each site will have to be optimized in a different way.
Here I believe Organic Optimization will take place (Organic optimization means naturally getting a high ranking because of the way a specific website is built and the kind of content it contains)".
The content likely to be indexed in the future will be multimedia and the search engines will have capability to understand the intent of the query and then display multimedia results.
The rankings of these results would be more "user-centric", "extent of personalization of the user", "geographical location of the user", "contents authority score" and proper understanding of Google algorithm.
The race between SEO and Google has started since long and the winner will the one who will think a step forward than the Big Daddy - Google.
