No matter what online business you're in, the bottom line is traffic. Without a steady stream of traffic coming in, you will struggle day-in and day-out when it comes to getting sales. Getting traffic to your website is one of those things that without it, there's not much that you can do on the internet. Luckily, traffic isn't that hard to get.

You will find that there are a ton of ways to get traffic to your website, but only a few of those will turn out to be worth your while. In today's lesson, we will take a look at some of the traffic strategies that I have used and are still using today to get traffic to my website. You will find that these techniques are easy to do, and that they won't take up alot of your time to implement them. Here's traffic tip number 1:

1) Social marketing

When I €social marketing€, I mean using a variety of social media networks that can bring you traffic immediately. I know of a guy who got 200,000 hits in one day to his website using social marketing. This is something that you don't want to ignore, and it's something that can deliver you tons of traffic.

The trick to making social marketing work is building a network. You need your own group, and will have to develop a league of €followers€ that you disperse knowledge and information to. These €followers€ will then see your content, click back to your website, and take whatever action there is for them to take.

There are all kinds of social marketing sites. You have social bookmarking sites like Digg, Reddit, Delicious, and etc. And you also have social networking sites like LinkedIn, Facebook, Myspace, and even Youtube. Imagine using all of these outlets to promote your product or service. You'd become a household name to those in your niche.

Let's take a look at another option you have to get traffic to your website:

2) Blog commenting

With blog commenting, you subscribe to a blog, and respond to the blog owner's posts. Most blogs allow you to insert your website URL into your profile name with each post, and alot of people are having success with it. But for others, this seems like a waste of time. But surely you should know, that it's a highly effective medium to getting traffic back to your site - thus resulting in the possibility of getting more sales.

You can never knock a traffic technique especially if you've never done it before. Make it a point to go blog hunting. Start at Google or a blog directory like €Blogorama€, and search for blogs in your niche. Bookmark high traffic blogs with alot of activity on them, and become a regular commenter. The more helpful the comment is, the better.

Both of these tips to getting more traffic are incredibly simple and easy to do. I suggest you start putting them to use right away.
