How to Hook Up Subs Without RCAs
- 1). Strip approximately 1/2 inch of the coating from the ends of the speaker wire. Twist the individual bundles of wire to prevent stray wires from causing a short circuit. Some wires come pre-stripped.
- 2). Turn off the audio source and plug the RCA audio cable into the red or white/black audio output channel on the audio source device.
- 3). Loosen the speaker wire posts on the subwoofer. Wrap the bare ends of the speaker wire and tighten the posts. Skip this step if your subwoofer uses slide-on terminals.
- 4). Crimp the connectors onto the bare wire using a crimping tool if your subwoofer uses slide-on terminals. Slide the connectors over the terminal leads.
