Minolta Copier Cleaning Procedures
- Japanese manufacturer Konica-Minolta, known as Minolta for short, makes a range of multi-use printer, copier and scan machines, including the Bizhub model line. Periodically the Minolta copier needs to be cleaned to remove dust and debris that can adhere to your photocopies and scratch the glass. Each part of the machine responds best to a different cleaning procedure.
- Wipe down the outside of the Minolta copier with a tack cloth to remove dust and grime. Move the cloth between your fingers to expose a clean area of the cloth (otherwise you're simply dragging the dust). Hit hard-to-reach areas with a blast of canned air to blow dust out of these places.
- Spray non-abrasive glass cleaner onto a tack cloth until the cloth becomes moist but not wet. Don't spray the glass cleaner onto the glass surface. Wipe the glass with the cloth to clean it, wiping until smudge marks, fingerprints and other debris disappear.
- The lid backing is located underneath the photocopier lid; it hits the glass. If this is dirty, marks can appear on your document. Clean the lid backing with a damp tack cloth.
- Wipe the drums inside the photocopier side door with a dampened tack cloth to remove stray toner, dust or other debris. Also wipe the machine's rollers that grab paper with this cloth.
- Brush loose toner from the machine using the cleaning wand that was included with your Minolta copier purchase. Loose toner will resemble black specks, like charcoal particles.
