How to Replace a Rear Engine Mount on a 1994 Mercury Tracer

    • 1). Drive the front end of the Mercury Tracer onto ramp lifts and set the parking brake. Get under the Tracer and locate the rear engine mount. The rear mount is a small black rubber fitting.

    • 2). Remove the steel securing bolt using the ratchet set. Pull the bolt from the rear engine mount and set aside.

    • 3). Place the jack under the oil pan and raise the engine slightly to take the weight off the rear engine mount. Pull the rear engine mount out of the fitting.

    • 4). Slide the new rear engine mount into the fitting lining up the holes on the frame, engine mount and engine. Insert the steel securing bolt and tighten the bolt with the ratchet set.
