3 Good Reasons Why God Designed Marriage
He had you in mind.
Once you understand that purpose, you will appreciate and enjoy marriage to the fullest just as God intended it to be.
You will further treat it with the respect and dignity it deserves.
This article seeks to explain three main reasons why God designed marriage.
Believe me, these reasons are to your benefit.
1.
Marriage was designed for companionship "And Jehovah God said, It is not good that the man should be alone.
I will make a helper suitable for him.
" (Genesis 2:18).
God designed marriage for companionship.
He noted that man (Adam) was alone.
God said that it was not good for him to be alone.
As a result he made him a helper.
That is someone suitable for him.
So it is by God's design for a man to be married to a woman.
It is therefore a good thing to have a spouse.
Someone you love and one with whom you can share and enjoy life.
Be friends with your spouse.
Enjoy every moment of your lives together and celebrate each other.
Spend quality time together and help each other.
2.
God designed marriage for sexual intimacy "For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two of them shall be one flesh.
" (Ephesians 5:31).
Sexual intimacy is a nice and beautiful experience.
Some view sex as something dirty, but I tell you, that is not true.
This must be enjoyed by both spouses.
That is why it is important to marry someone you love.
Sexual intimacy is how we climax our love relationship with our spouses.
It is the celebration of our life.
That means there are many other things we do together with our spouses in life.
Therefore, sex is a celebration or climaxing of it all.
3.
God designed marriage for procreation "And God created man in His image; in the image of God He created him.
He created them male and female.
And God blessed them.
And God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply and fill the earth, and subdue it...
"(Genesis 1:27-28).
How could the human race continue apart from a marriage? God designed marriage for procreation.
He wanted us to fill the earth with children that fear His name.
The Almighty wanted us to raise children who would grow up knowing Him as God.
I have just highlighted to you that God designed marriage for a purpose.
He wanted man to have a suitable companionship.
God also wanted life to be celebrated within the parameters of marriage.
Procreation is another reason why God designed this beautiful union.
Children are to be raised in a marriage that is within a love atmosphere.
So marriage should be enjoyed.
