How to Get Floors Not to Track After Mopping
- 1). Fill a cleaning bucket with 1 gallon water and 1 cup white vinegar. Add a squirt of dish soap if you have an extremely dirty floor, or if your floor has sticky food residue.
- 2). Dip your mop into the cleaner and wring the mop out well. Start at the far corner of the room, mopping in long back-and-forth strokes.
- 3). Work your way backward, making sure you do not walk back across any of the wet floor surface that was just mopped. Continue until the entire floor is clean.
- 4). Allow the floor to air dry. The cleaning solution dries clear and residue-free, and since no one has walked across the floor while wet, you do not have to worry about footprint tracks.
