How to Make Frosted Mirrors

    • 1). Place the mirror on a flat surface in a well-ventilated area.

    • 2). Clean the mirror thoroughly with glass cleaner and paper towels so the frost adheres well.

    • 3). Position the stencil on top of the mirror, in the desired location. Tape it down with masking tape.

    • 4). Put on a face mask, gloves and work clothes to protect yourself from frost spray.

    • 5). Shake the can of glass frosting--brands differ, so read the label to find out how long you need to shake the can. Spray the glass frosting over the stenciled area of glass. Apply light, even coats by spraying in a side to side motion. It will take five to 10 minutes before the frost will begin to show.

    • 6). Read the can label to find out how long that particular glass frosting takes to dry. When thoroughly dry, remove the tape and stencil. If you have overspray (frosting that is outside of the design), gently scrap it away with a razor blade.

    • 7). Apply a clear acrylic sealer over the frosted design--use the applicator that comes with the product--if you want to keep the frosting on the mirror permanently. Let it dry undisturbed for at least one hour.
