How to Clean Hardwood Floors With Scotchgard
- 1). Dry mop the floor with a dust mop to remove everyday dirt and grime.
- 2). Wipe up stains and spills with a dry paper towel or clean white cloth. If the stain is dried on, rub it vigorously. If the stain is dry and thick like dried paint, scrape the bulk of it up with a plastic paint scraper or putty knife first.
- 3). Remove sticky stains with a soap solution. Dip a clean towel in a mild detergent soap solution (roughly 1 tbsp. of dishwashing detergent per quart of water). Wring the towel out until it is almost dry. Clean the sticky stain with the cloth, then immediately wipe the floor dry with a dry cloth.
