How to Remove Hardened Construction Adhesive From Concrete Flooring
- 1). Open windows and doors to ventilate the area if you are working inside. Cover the adhesive with a soy or chemical adhesive remover. Apply the remover thickly with a paintbrush to all of the areas with adhesive.
- 2). Let the remover sit for half an hour. You may observe the edges of the dried adhesive begin to peel, but do not disturb it until at least 30 minutes have elapsed.
- 3). Scrape up all of the old adhesive with a straight-edged putty knife. Hold the knife at approximately a 45-degree angle for the correct leverage without gouging the concrete with the sharp corners.
- 4). Rinse the concrete with plain water. For indoor floors, use a cheap mop that you can throw out dampened with water. Let the concrete air dry overnight before performing any installations.
