How Do I Remove Rug Anchor Pad Marks?
- 1). Remove the carpet and discard the anchor pad underneath it, since it will stain the floor again if you reuse it.
- 2). Apply 1 to 2 tbsp. of a petroleum-based solvent to the stained area of the floor.
- 3). Place a sponge on the surface of the floor and move it in a circular pattern using firm pressure. If the sponge does not adequately remove the marks, switch to a melamine foam eraser sponge. If the floor is made of vinyl tile or ceramic tile, you can use a fine-grade steel wool to remove the marks. Continue until the marks are removed.
- 4). Wipe the area of the floor with clean, dry paper towels to remove all traces of the cleaning residue. This may require several paper towels, since the petroleum-based solvent is slightly greasy.
- 5). Wipe the floor with a damp sponge to remove all traces of the cleaner and then dry it completely with additional paper towels.
