How to Keep Things From Sticking to Leather When It Is Hot & Humid
- 1). Ensure your leather product is clean. Wipe off your leather good with a damp cloth. Allow the leather to completely dry.
- 2). Wipe your leather item down with Murphy's Oil or saddle soap. Cover all surfaces completely with a thin layer of product. Once you finish, allow the item to completely dry.
- 3). Spray your entire leather surface with leather protection spray. Allow the item to dry before use.
- 4). Use a mixture of vinegar and linseed oil sponged on with a soft cloth if you need to remove certain isolated sticky spots on your leather item.
- 5). Cover your leather furniture with a slipcover during the particularly hot, humid months of the year if cleaning does not seem to help improve your sticky leather surface. You could then remove the cover when the weather changes in the fall. For leather clothing, inserting a lining made by a different material can help greatly with jackets and skirts.
