How to Remove Candle Wax From a Globe
- 1). Fill a plastic zip bag with ice cubes. Use a sandwich-sized bag for small wax spills, or a larger bag for bigger spots.
- 2). Lay or hold the ice bag on the candle wax on your globe. Keep the ice in place until it causes the wax to harden.
- 3). Lift the edge of the hardened wax with a credit card. Lift up one small area at a time, discarding the wax as it breaks off, and continue to gently scrape until all the candle wax is removed.
- 4). Dampen a clean cloth with white vinegar. Wring out excess vinegar before gently wiping the surface of the globe at the site of the wax spot. This removes the greasy candle wax residue.
- 5). Dry your globe with a clean cloth before buffing it with an old dryer sheet. The dryer sheet will remove any last trace of grease residue while polishing the surface.
