Problems Installing Printmaster
- PrintMaster computer software allows users to create signs, DVD labels, picture pages and other types of design projects. Some users experience problems when installing the PrintMaster software, including catastrophic errors, the auto-play function not starting the installation and error 1935. Most problems are common, and users can fix them by troubleshooting the installation.
- When installing PrintMaster on your computer you may encounter an error that reads "Catastrophic Failure." Though it sounds dramatic, the error is common and is often caused by a dirty installation disc or a problem transferring information from the disc to the computer. To fix the error, first clean the disc. Take a clean, dry cloth and lightly rub the disc from the middle of the disc to the edge. This will remove dust, dirt or finger prints on the disc. Reinsert the disc and try again.
If you receive the error after cleaning the disc, attempt to install the program from your computer's hard drive. Create a folder on your desktop by right clicking on an open area, selecting "New" and "Folder." Place the installation disc in the computer CD-ROM drive. Open "My Computer," right click the CD-ROM drive and choose "Open." The contents of the installation disc will appear in the window. Press "CTRL" and "A" to highlight all of the items in the window, click "Edit" and choose "Copy." Paste all of the items in the folder you created. Open the folder, select the "Setup" folder and double click "Setup Launcher." Follow the onscreen instructions to install PrintMaster. - When you place the installation disc in the CD-ROM drive, the install should start immediately with the computer's auto-play feature. Some computer users prefer to leave the auto-play feature turned off, or it may have been turned off accidentally. To start the installation when auto-play does not work, first check that the "PrintMaster Install" CD is inserted in the computer. PrintMaster comes with several CDs; the only CD that installs the program is the "PrintMaster Install" CD. Open "Control Panel" on your computer and choose "Add/Remove Programs." Press the "Install" button and then "Next." The computer will search for installation files in your computer's disc drives. Select the PrintMaster installation by pressing the "Finish" button when the window appears onscreen.
- PrintMaster uses the Microsoft .net framework to run the program. A copy of the .net framework is installed along with PrintMaster, if it is not already installed on your computer. If you receive an "Error 1935" message when installing PrintMaster, cancel the installation and restart the computer. In most cases, this will resolve the error. If you continue to receive the error, open "Control Panel" and choose "Administrative Tools > Services > Windows Installer." Press the "Stop" button in the window, and attempt to reinstall the software.
