How to Remove Apps From Startup in Windows XP
- 1). Click the "Start" icon on the Windows XP taskbar to open the Start menu.
- 2). Click "Run" on the right side of the Start menu to open the Run program window.
- 3). Type "msconfig" to the right of Open, then press "Enter." The System Configuration program window opens.
- 4). Select the "Startup" tab in the System Configuration program window.
- 5). Click to uncheck the box to the left of any programs beneath Startup Item in the System Configuration program window that you do not want to boot up upon startup.
- 6). Click "Apply," and then click "OK" to save your changes. The next time you boot up the computer, the programs you unchecked will not boot up.
