How to Clean Up Windows Update Files
- 1). Click the "Start" menu icon. Click "All Programs," select the "Accessories" folder and then the "System Tools" folder.
- 2). Click "Disk Cleanup." Select your hard drive if you are prompted to select which drive to clean. A dialog box will pop up. Windows will read your hard drive to calculate what can be cleaned off and how much space you will save on the drive.
- 3). Check the boxes next to "Setup Log Files" and "Temporary Files" to clean up Windows update files. Select any other files from the list that you want clean off the hard drive as well.
- 4). Click "OK." You will be prompted to confirm your selection. Click "Delete files."
